Changchun pointer problem

I have a Changchun pointer (stock, regular output) that developed a problem. It's about 3 weeks old, didn't use it that much.

The beam has become large and diffused. At about 20' the beam is 2 or 3' across.

I never dropped it, or abused it, or attempted to dissasemble.

Any ideas?

Luckly I bought this from Arnold, so I'm sending it back, but I'm curious what it could be and if I can expect it to happen again.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif They are very poorly made. I brought in a thousand of these because they were just so cheap that I could not resist them. I have about seventy left and I will not be getting any more. I will be sticking to the Leadlight products from now on and leave the others to the "here today and gone tomorrow" crowd. By all means send it back while I can still replace it. Better yet, wrap it in a twenty dollar bill and I will ship you a 9-10 mW Leadlight for it.

Hello Datasaurusrex,

Wow, is that customer service or what.

Take Arnold up on his offer. You won't be disappointed.

Cool! Thanks Arnold /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We actually just spoke on the phone yesterday and you were great to deal with. I just posted the above question because I was curious what could have caused the symptom.

Sounds like Leadlights the way to go, I appreciate that!
