That's a great deal, but it says "Usually ships in 3 to 5 weeks".

Can anyone tell us if it really takes that long?

Good eye! hmmmmmm

I still have never got a multi tool! :>

I have been MIA from here for awhile too.

What would an alternative be to get the "locking" ability?

There are several tools that lock. I have Gerbers and Leatherman Pulse that lock.

I just ordered the Swiss Tool. That's a very good price. They are usually $65 at the sites I looked at. I have handled the Swiss Tool and the quality seems to be the best of the tools that I've seen.

Here's a link to Equipped to Survive with information on Tools

I like the Swisstool, but it's bigger than the Wave. Depending on your point of view, that's either a plus (sturdier) or a negative (heavier, bulkier).

And since I like Target more than Walmart, go to Target for a Wave, $59.99 + tax on sale last I visited.

I was at Target tonight, and a few of the Leatherman Juice's are marked down.

Or I could send you a Wave from Germany, they are only $150 here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/faint.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif

The SwissTool is great though, better than the Wave imho.

Update:

I ordered from the link in the original post and received a email stating,

"Shipping estimate for these items: May 18, 2004
Delivery estimate: May 21, 2004 - June 7, 2004"

The shipping was free. There appeared to be 10 in stock before ordering.

The swiss tool is better than the wave - i have both. this is a great price and well worth it.

if you need one, then go for the swisstool. if you want a wave, wait until this summer when the new version comes out with the locking tools.
