Just as the title says...does anybody make any 3 watt Luxeon mini Mag drop ins? If so who? I would love to have a 3 watt mini mag...but I don't think it's something I want to tackle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

they use the Lux 3, but aren't 3W... somewhat brighter, but the boards don't have the horsepower to output full brightness... (a good thing 'cause no way a AA mag can dissipate the heat'

watts = voltage x current, so if a 3W lux3 is used in a minimag (which I assume is using 2 AA's, which is 3 volts) then the current draw would be 1 amp. I doubt regular alkalines can give that much current, and if they could (like andrewwynn said) "cause no way a AA mag can dissipate the heat".
