Is their any reason not to rip off the labeling that goes around the circumference of the base and also covers the top? In other words, is this area covered on purpose as the lighting may not be as even in these covered areas?

I don't suppose anybody knows of a way to slow down the effects. I think it cycles thru the colors far too fast.

Other then looking home made and rather shoddily put together, not a bad light.

The silver name lable on along the bottom of the light covers the battery pack and electronics. The label on the top is probably just to prevent a visible hot spot where the upward pointed LED's might focus.
