Re: Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery...............

Here is a recap of what happened (mostly about Marion Jones):

Quick exit after Jones fails in 100-meter finals

[ QUOTE ]
Jones still has a shot at qualifying for the Games in the 200 meters and the long jump, in which she is among the favorites, but the 100 has been her main event since 1998.
...
In the period between testifying in the Bay Area Lab Co-Operative case and Saturday's 100-meter final, Jones has faced a stream of allegations and accusations while waging a public-relations offensive rooted in her insistence that she has never taken steroids.
...
Whether any or all of that baggage weighed too heavily on Jones during Saturday's trials is unknown, but her fifth-place finish seemed to close the book on a period in which she often ruled the 100 over the last seven years. Jones finished fifth in 11.14, well behind winner LaTasha Colander (10.97) and .03 of a second behind the fourth-place finisher, 37-year-old Gail Devers.

Barry Bonds, the most amazing player I've ever seen, and I saw Willie Mays in his prime is getting smaller by the day, even though being stronger never helped anyone to make contact with a baseball with a round bat.
