Need help boring out an Arc LS Fatty1AA pack.

I'm trying to convert one of those Fatty 1AA packs so it will work with either a single CR123, AA or AAA battery. I don't have a large enough drill bit and no real workbench or vice to keep the battery pack steady while I drill. I'm afraid of screwing this up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif So is there another way to do this? Maybe a store like Home Depot or maybe a local hardware type stores can do this for me? And do it PROPERLY? I'm in NYC, if you know of any specific store that does this stuff. I'm trying to get this done before the RNC comes to town. You need to chuck this up in a lathe. Arc AA fatty packs are too precious to risk messing up.

Look for Tool and Die shops there is bound to be one close by.
