I read somewhere here in Candlepowerforums some guy was selling a filter that goes in front of the lens or on the inside of the front lens. Something about a Hampshire eighth or something like that. I just scuff my LED up with an old brillo pad. Works great!

I needed to do this, and simply sanded the case with ultra-fine sandpaper. Brillo would probably work as well. The results were quite good.

Does anyone know a source for LED Diffusers?

I agree about sanding 5mm LEDs, but did you mean those or luxeons? For the latter, there's acrylite, writeright, scotch satin tape, and LDF among others. It would help if you were more specific about how much diffusion you want if you're using luxeons. Also, whether a replacement lens is feasible with your setup.

The sanding sounds perfect. There will be no lens involved. I will be modifing several "tap lights" to use 5mm LEDs with a LM334 constant current circuit. The sanding suggestion solves my problem perfectly. Thanks guys.
