West Virginia Campgrounds

Can anyone recommend a nice campground in the New River Gorge area of West Virginia? I guess I would prefer one as close to Rt. 19 as possible. Planning to spend a few days with an old buddy from Pittsburgh and meet him halfway between our homes. I'd also be interested in any of the campgrounds in the Summersville,WV area. Thanks for any advice.

I almost went there a couple of years ago and still might next year. Please tell us what you thoughts are about the place when you get back.

I initially read the subject of the post as West Virginia Compounds, and BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED.

Hmmm, sadly, I cant really think of one off the top of my head.
I mostly camp in the middle of the woods, and dont use campgrounds.

I would recommend going somewhere near Spruce Knob, oe Seneca Rocks, if you near there.
Though, I think you are talking about an area alittle further away from there.
