Default Guess this disease, 3rd_shift is sick (pic).

Symptoms are:
Dry, scratchy, sore, swollen throat.
Spots on face, chest.
Loss of apetite. (not completely)
Almost everything eaten either goes right through quickly in liquid form, or occasionally just bounces right back up.
No real energy.
Fever of 102.
light headed, some dizziness not thinking as sharply as usual.

Edit: Those who guessed Strep Throat were correct.
I'm now starting to go through reading this long thread now.

yikes....... that looks *BAD*.

Have you seen a doctor? I hope you're relying on a more professional diagnosis than CPF and 'telemedicine' can give you

I will be making a run to the doctor if available today.
If not available, I'm headed for the hospital.

My guess is an allergic reaction to something. I kinda doubt Chicken pox because you didnt say spots were itchy and it is mostly upper torso.
Food allergy.

From that history,

Septic streptoccal disease, probably Group A Beta Strep.

But....could also be meningicoccal infection (usually with stiff neck though), infectious mononucleosis (you don't say if you had it as a teenager?), viral syndrome, fifth disease (usually also a childhood disease), or another viral disease. Chicken Pox usually starts on the trunk. Measles is possible, but most adults have had vaccination. Smallpox has been eradicated, doesn't look like cowpox. Big city, so Monkey Pox is possible, but I've never seen a case, so don't know what the lesions look like.

Yep, I'll stick with my original, Septic streptoccocal infection.

You shined a high power green laser at a rotating disco ball with your shirt off???

I don't think allergic reaction due to:
fever
"spots" not "lumps" or "bulges"

I've had systemic strep, but I'm guessing chickenpox! (Only thing that took me down on a tour in Vietnam. Got some ossifer kicked out of a private room on the USS Sanctuary, (quarantine) and 2-weeks short of the end of my enlistment!) Wait until the scabs/itch happen! My local Corpsmans initial diagnosis was malaria due to the fever and he refused my insistance that I had been religiously taking the orange mofo pill! Get well!

What's so sad is if it is chicken pox, there is supposed to be a vaccine. Wish there was one when I was growing up.

I'm more than a little concerned that he hasn't posted!

That implies he is unable to post. That might imply he has been hospitalized.

The blotches are not consistent with chicken pox papules, however, adult chicken pox can have some unique presentations and can be VERY serious, even life threatening, esepcially if they get into the lungs.

However, at this point, if he isn't home, I still am most concerned about streptococcal septicemia or possibly meningococcemia.

I agree that it doesn't look like chicken pox. Maybe Hives??? Hopefully it's not that serious and 3rd-shift is o.k. and will be posting soon.

Unfortunately, I didn't get chicken pox until fairly late in life. It's definatley not fun when your older and get them. they were truly miserable.
