Does it feel like Halloween yet?

Here we are, just a week and a half from Halloween, and for some reason it just doesn't feel as Halloweeny as last year.

I haven't seen any scary stuff on TV (unless you count the debates), only a few people have their houses decorated, and it just feels cold outside--I'm not feeling that Autumn crispness that I grew up with.

I guess I'll have to rent some good halloween movies.
What kind of "good" movies are out there in circulation?

I'm not talking gory slasher films--I like the old style monster movies. Corny is good. I just saw "Club Dread" from the same producers as "super troopers", and it does a good job poking fun of the clasic slasher movies.

Halloweeny...Now that's funny! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Scary Movie 3 is a good movie that makes fun of other movies.

Well, Yes and No.
Heck yes it feels like Halloween to me around here. The neighborhood is decorated and costumes are in the stores and the leaves are starting to fall from my trees. Tonight we are buying our pumpkins and we already have 3 huge mix variety bags of candy to hand out. I look foward to Halloween more than Christmas. It is the official start of the holiday season for me. I just get in better spirits!

With all that being said, NO, the weather makes it feel far from Halloween. Last week we had some cool weather, but not now. Today is the third day this week with highs in the 90's. That is just not right. It needs to be cooler, DAMNIT!! That is the biggest thing I hate about Texas.

Isn't Halloween the official holiday of flashlight freaks?
I mean, what other holiday actually lists a flashlight on the checklist?

Yes, I agree with Jason - even our kids aren't in the Halloweeny mood yet. It doesn't seem to have the, normal, seasonal "feel" for some reason. YMMV.

Okay, more to the point, what are y'all Trick-or-Treater Escort/Chaperones gonna carry this year?

Moi, I think its gonna be my Surefire 9AN, spare battery, and my L4 as back-up.

since I'm the official candy-hander-outer, I don't need portable light. I'm relying on orange string lights, 2 led flickering candles, and a blacklight to make the entry way spooky. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/au.gif

Oh, and I've got a spotlight (battery powered car headlight) if I feel like blinding anyone /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Already watched one Haloween movie tonight. I'll have to rent more next week. I hope AMC has their marathon again this year. I saw a few Vincent Price movies I hadn't seen before.

You could lug a thor around and blind the hell out of everyone on the street. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crackup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif
