Battery Powering Solarc HID

I just got a Trail Tech HID light that uses a Welch Allyn 10W MR11 bulb and the B10N002 Ballast rated at 12.8 to 13.2V and need to run it off Nimh batteries. I have 11 cell battery assemblies that run up as high as 14.5 volts with a full charge at a 2 amp load. Does anyone know how the varying voltage of the battery affects the light? Will too high or too low damage it?

Any real experience out there?

An 11 cell pack should get over 15v when it's fully charged. You should use 10 cells.

I use 10 cells on the one attached to my bike.
