I have a LuxV 2C m@g Mod running on 3x123´s . It is running DD and would like to regulate it to about 1Ah .
Any advice would be hepfull . Thanks .

Hello mountain,

I suppose you DD a LUXIII? and you would like
to run it about 1A? not 1Ah *g*

To calculate a resistor value depends an which
Vf your LUXIII is, meand what binning. ...

Then just do ohms law, R=U/I where U is the difference
Voltage between Vf and your Input Voltage, which is
in your case 9V.

My advice. Run it DD without a resistor, if your LUXIII
is a K bin. If you really insist of the 1A, then you need
a propper regulator (like a downBoy 1000). IF you use
only an resistor, your current draw lowers over time ...

Cheers

It's reasonable to want to limit the current, especially if you want it to be reliable.

Since you said you have a LUX V, the vf will be somewhere between a minimum of 5.43 volts and a maximum of 8.31 volys Tell us what your bin is and we'll be able to do a fair job of suggesting the resistor value.

The best thing to do is to first get a current reading with your present setup. Since it is running is DD, it is easy. Just remove the tail cap and use a DMM to close the connection. You may decide that you don't need to add a resistor at all.

The bin of my Lux V is VV1T and the battery´s are pushing
1.35A . I was thinking I could regulate it to say 850mA
so I would have a stady current until the battery´s were
fairly flat then it would go over to DD . Is that correct ?
I just wanted to , One :Get the best run time out of the battery´s with out giving up to much power and Two:Not let the battery´s slowly bleed off unregulated (DD) .
