I'm curious about the acrylic balls sold at the sanwich shoppe. They are claimed to focus light into a very concentrated spot when at the correct focal length. Has anyone tried them, or know how far these must be placed from the emitter?

I have used one before with a MadMax I had in a Mini-Mag. It definitely made the beam pretty narrow. I put it in the light just like you would an optic, except for the fact there is no lens and it sticks out of the head. I could do a little tweaking by turning the body while holding the head to fine tune it.

A sphere placed over a LED works wonders for a tight beam.
Here is a picture of my EDC with a sphere and a normal light.

Side by side of lights. Both are Arc AA.

And here are the beam shots.

As one can clearly see, my EDC has a very tight beam.
For some unknown reason, my hip starts to hurt after the first hour after leaving home. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

AW. I tried a magnifying glass and it does not do much. Maybe one with a sharp curve might do it.

Sometimes I like to go covert so I put a blue filter on my EDC.

I guess an inappropriate response to the title of this thread would be: "Yes, but it hurt when I walked." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It take big balls to post photos like this.

I also have a green filter and I am searching for a red filter./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

I'm afraid I can't sell any of the mods due to high freight charges. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif
