SF M6 produces a whole lotta light, but in a typical Surefire large hotspot/corona beam - not super-concentrated into a long-throw needle. M6 is a great light for lighting things inside 100 yards - or dimly lighting things at a longer distance, but if you want to pick out details at 250 yards, like a rock, bush or tree, and really see what's there - you'll need a true spotlight. Or a THOR.

M6 throw is decent, but not outstanding, and the HOLA is more of a 'wall of light' beam than a needle as well.

I would say about 150 yards, more than that and it's useless. If you want throw in a manageable size, you'd better look at the 9nt. Of course it's discontinued and the total output is far less than the m6's, but if you're looking for a perfect tight beam with a pure round spot, that's the light you're looking for. Another option is a modded magcharger.
