SF M6 produces a whole lotta light, but in a typical Surefire large hotspot/corona beam - not super-concentrated into a long-throw needle. M6 is a great light for lighting things inside 100 yards - or dimly lighting things at a longer distance, but if you want to pick out details at 250 yards, like a rock, bush or tree, and really see what's there - you'll need a true spotlight. Or a THOR.
M6 throw is decent, but not outstanding, and the HOLA is more of a 'wall of light' beam than a needle as well.
