What are you guys using to "sleeve" 3C's to fit a 2D body?

If memory serves me right, it was 1" PVC and trimmed multiple times on the table saw until it fit like a glove.

Wouldn't the spring need some cutting down to accommodate the 3Cs?

Is the one inch PVC outer diameter approx the size of a d cells outer diameter? If not I imagine you probably build up the OD with tape?
