Welcome to CPF io333. There are others on this forum that know a lot more than me regarding lumens and runtime, but from what I have learned, most companies exagerate their output and runtime claims.
Streamlight might be correct however, they claim peak output at 125 lumens. It might put out that much on new batteries for a couple of minutes, and it might run for at least an hour. But it probably won't put out 125 lumens for an hour.

if they've figured out how to get 125 lumens for 1 hour out oif two 123s it just might make me switch over to streamlight

The 'way' Streamlight/Insight rate their products is different from SureFire. The output ratings can not be compared. In general, even though more companies are showing ratings in Lumens it is still not possible to compare them. The only real way is to get a few of each light and compare them side-by-side or send them off to an independant accredited test lab for testing.
