Received my first true modded light today. A Lux3 3C from 3rd... Its great... I bought my first mod due to time... (I don't have any)...anyway...
I have two new 2d M*G's and I want to convert them to LED.. I don't want the drop in modules and I don't want to run AA packs.... so to the question...

"What LED can be ran with two D cells?" "Do you get OK runtime?"
Is this even fesiable?

Tried to search... but didn't find what I wanted

Thanks

Skillet,
Three C cells can be sleeved into a 2 D cell Mag.
Doing it on 2 cells is more complicated & expensive.

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to find out if there is a Luxeon I can direct drive or if I will have to use a regulator with it... or are there some other options.. (want to use two "d" cells)

Thanks

If you want wimpy light output use 2D's, if you want some serious light output use 3C's in your 2D mag as stated above. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For 2x D cells direct drive is not possible (except for Li-Ions cells).
For a boost regulator you can use one of these $13MadMax|$13BadBoy|$22FatMan|$28NexGen. Listed in order of cost no particular preference. Different converter for different applications.

Nitroz, what kind of light output are you talking about when you're refering to 3Cs? Incadescent or Luxeon?

I think the EverLED that works with 2 cells has built-in electronics.

Red, red/orange and amber yellow can work on 2 cells cheaply.
I will be making some reds, or red/orange in a week or two.

These should be quite a sight when built.

As for electronics, the Fatman is hard to beat.
I just got some more of those premium TWOJ bin white luxeon3's
to run off of a Fatman boost regulator in a 2d.
