I just finished a runtime test on a 3AAA alkaline
light and I was happy with the results I got.
(About 3 3/4 hrs) I pulled out the cells and
checked the voltage. One cell was down to
.3 volts and the other two were 1.2 volts.
This sort of thing has happened several times
during tests and has caused me to check the
voltages often on lights that I am using.
Since I keep all my partially discharged
cells, many times I will replace the low
cell with one with like voltage and I'm
back in business. I would guess that many
times when a cell leaks it is probably one
of these premature falty cells.

So Check those cells often!!!

I hear that in series setups the battery at the end of the chain near the negative terminal of the pack is always the lowest and you should rotate the batteries to ensure they draw and charge equally.
