I do think that the procedure with many of these things is to start with a big dose and get it affecting the condition as quickly as possible, then cut back on the dosage and try to find the point where they are still working for you but the side effects go away, or are at least diminished.
Was there a problem with the old meds? Or was the doc just feeling like trying something new? That does happen, i've known docs who get obsessed with some new drug and give it to everyone if it's proven to do anything or not.
But most likely there is a good reason for the switch. But if you're getting the desired results and just having wacky bad side effects, then call and move up the clinic appointment where they are going to push the dosage back a notch.
Good luck man, don't just stop! Call them up and tell them how you're suffering!, they will fix the dosage, thats what they are supposed to do for you.
