BestHongKong has a 48 LED MR16 lamp that runs off 12V at 320-350ma. They claim they are using 10-12K leds and it sure looks like it.. Cost about $20 a couple weeks ago.

The holey plastic thing is Whiskypapa's 48 LED plate originally used with 48 UV LED photo-set cement hardeners. I think I'll populate it with 25K LEDs to see what happens...

What we do next is putting the blue, green, and finally UV up.

Any one think a 48PCs UV MR16 useful?

48 in other colors including UV could be fun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif
Especially if it can fit into a magglight.
There are plenty of maggmodders here who can have some fun with that.

Can see UV MR16 having its uses, but dinnae forget Red for RGB colour mix and Amber for warm display light applications.

I have a few of these lamps and at one one string after the other died. The LEDs are grouped in strings of three.

will try the 400-410nm first, and later try the 390-400nm.

what's a magglight?

Amber, yellow, and perhaps Infrared.
amber & yellow for color mixing are okay, we could get these out fast.

UV and IR would be for special purpose while UV LED are still visible but the IR are normally invisible to human eyes but are useful in other field.

Maglite flashlight.
mr16 form factor assemblies can be made to fit by a talented modder into a 3d maglite for portable purposes with a 9aa adaptor and bipin magcharger slug.

Otherwise, a flange bulb adaptor built into an mr16 would be easier for the rest of us to put into a maglite.
You would be amazed at what some of us can do with something like your 48 led product with only a little help on your end.

Just a creative thought to explore.
Nobody makes a 48 led maglite adaptor yet that I know of. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
