Someone suggested to doubled the brightness on the CMG Infinty by running with 3.6v AA. I own the CMG Infinity(2nd generation, not the Ultra), should I go ahead and try it?
BTW is there such a thing as a 3.6vAA?

It doesn't double the output. I used a 3V AA (1/2 of a CRV-3)and it made the beam a bit brighter but much bluer (overdriven). Also, it heated up quite a bit, whereas running on 1.5-1.7V there is no heat buildup at all. I don't know if that's too good for your light. But that's just my experience.

I think there are several types of 3.6V lithium batteries. The kind I got (Li-thionyl-chloride) are 3.7 V but have very low current capacity (< 30 mA I think), so they can direct drive some LEDs but drive most boosted lights less brightly than a regular Alkaline. I was trying to get the high current type but made a mistake.
