    Default Tent Lantern

What are the options for "tent" lanterns ?
Safe tent lanterns that allow enough light to read, and play cards would be the goal.

    How big is the tent?

Arc AAA on a string might fit the bill.

Or an E2e clipped to the brim of your hat.
    The idea is..
A real lantern, that comes with ambience, 3 man tent size, Himalaya size, something you can live with for six weeks.

    Mrdi,
Would you expect to have enough sunlight for
a solar panel to recharge a battery? Are you
more interested in a non electric solution?

A battery situation is acceptable and efficiency is a concern, So is space.

I would suggest an Arc head on a D cell body, nice and bright and it would last forever. Now if we could only get someone to make that adapter.

Personally I would take a 4 D or 4 C cell lantern, take out the regular lamp, short one of the battery contacts (so it used 3 cells) and replace the lamp with a LED. I have one and I don't think I will have to change the battery any time soon.
