I was looking for g2s on the net last night and came across this site that sells a cell extender for ten bucks.

http://osograndeknives.com/Flashlights/Sure-Fire/sure-fire_battery_adaptor_(an14-od).htm

I have read that with pillas you can use a p90 lamp, but I rather use regular old cr123s as I have had bad experiences with recharagable batteries.

Is this long enough or so I need a spacerto use 3 cr 123s with a p90 or p91 lamp? I know the lens would need to be upgraded, but was just brain storming and drooling.

The AN14 is for the B65 Nicad battery it is too long to use with 3 123's. You need an A19 it will not match the Nitrolon on the G2 but will work.

The A19 is a black anodised metal body extension that holds one-SF123A battery.

You can use it on the G2 to create a three-SF123A body that requires the P90 or P91 Lamp Assembly.

Due to the amount of heat generated by these lamps it would be a good idea to purchase a G2Z bezel (it has a Pyrex window).

I use an AN14 with a small 3/8" aluminum plug in the end and 3xcr123 and a P91. Works great, matches the regular G2 finish and only adds about 3/8" over a typical 9V Surefire.

My G2 has a distorted lens, actually center of lens, due to running a P91 for a few minutes, with two unprotected RCR123's (protected RCR123's will not even turn the light on).

The G2Z Bezel has a Pyrex window (the G2's bezel has a Lexan window).

Bill, I suggest you call SureFire to get hold of a G2Z bezel.

Hi Cobb, if you get the AN14 and use a spacer later you might want to switch to Pila's a 168s and 150s (one of each)
fits like a glove in the G2 with the AN14. The P91 needs a double tap to fire up but thats not really a problem for me.

THanks. I had both of those ideas in mind. Getting the aftermarket lens and three 168s and a p91 lamp. I just wished my credit card didnt crap out when I placed the order and I cheapened up and just ground out the inside of my legend for the 3 wat led drop in module.

Wonder if a surefire cell extender works on the legend xl?

I do not think the A19 or AN14 will fit on the light you have (legend xl) sorry bout that.

Thanks, sure no problem. Just dont want to throw away valuable surefire funds. I am thinking of buying a 3 cell surefire light like the melinum 3 or m3 and a one of those new led heads the kl1 I think and the p91 lamp.

Al is right, I warped my 6P bezel with the old lexan (plastic) lens using a P91 with rechargeable 123s. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
