Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

Photo's taken had a standard 3 volt CR2. Draws 700Ma @ 3volts.
I have powered with RCR2 for a few minutes draws 1450Ma @ 3.5 volts. there is some volt drop on the RCR2.
I feel Red Raw is plenty bright enough of a normal CR2.
Adjusted focal point on Reflector also to produce nice smooth beam.

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

Rob, does this mean I should only run my red raw off standard CR2's, NOT the rechargeables?

I'll be looking for the mailman.......

Thanks,

Marc

No, you can run of RCR2. He says Blinded.
Just saying it is plenty bright enough of a CR2.
I can add a resistor if you do not want to push your Red to 1450Ma.

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

Sweeeeeeeeet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thank you again, Rob, for modding that for me - this looks like it'll be the default configuration for my Orb for some time to come, especially with the 3W white module still being available for me to swap this with. I particularly like that last shot with it on the Orb containers.

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

As long as I can send it back to you for a led replacement/upgrade in the future (if needed), I'll stick with the un-resistored version!

If I am going for a 'portable sun' it might as well be as bright as possible.

Thanks again.....

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

Haesslich, No Problem. ThankYou.
Solar, It's not that easy with the Red. The Reflectors need 0.4mm of the small end to get a smooth beam.
So really you need Reflector spacer & Red Raw Pill, Cost £17.
Postage extra £2 for Uk.
Marcspar, No problem with future Requests. I agree Belt out the most you can. Watch the heat after 5 mins.

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

Just got my RB Orb back today - and damn, but it's bright. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif With the new reflector and battery, it lights up practically a whole room by itself, and the fluorescent properties of the RB are useful for locating dust, as well as the UV-reactive strips on money. Very prompt work, too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

I received my 2nd order yesterday with the red led and it is incredible to see SO much light come out of something so tiny.

Thanks Rob! I guess I better start saving up for with a blue led....

Re: Red White & Blue Orb\'s & Raw

You should, Marc - it's worth it. Rob was the one who suggested the RB was damned bright, and a better mod than a LuxV, and he was right on both counts. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
