16340 18650 17670

Hi guys,

What are these numbers? Batteries? What are these for.....? So much to learn /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Li-Ion batteries. The numbers tell you the dimension of the batteries. The two first numbers tells the diameter and the next three tells the length. Example:
Code = 17335
Diameter = 17mm
Length = 33.5mm

No thats only almost correct. The third and fourth digit are diameter in mm and if the fifth digit is a zeor, it is a round cell.
For prismatic cells the fifth and sixth digits are the width and the third and fourth are missing dimesnion.

For example: 176065 is 17x60x65 mm
There may be exceptions for larger cells.
And: the numbers are not rounded, that means an 18650 could be anything in between 18mm and 18.9mm thick.
And some manufacturers are not too careful with it .-)
