I've been eagerly awaiting this review. The output is not as impressive as I'd hoped, but the runtime is pretty good. I wonder how it would perform on lithiums? How is it's weight compared to a Streamlight Jr. LED?

Peak brightness and total output for various 2AA LED lights:

062/0500 Dorcy 4LED
071/1000 Gerber Trio
125/1250 Nuwai TM65H
165/1283 Diamond 10X
320/1250 Nuwai ALX-2512AA
442/1860 Streamlight Jr. Luxeon
450/1800 Elektrolumens XM-3
500/1300 Costco 2AA Luxeon
600/1700 Longbow ECO (if it's the same beam as the Longbow Micra, which shares voltage and head)
2600/1673 Heliotek HTE-1

When you took these measurements, what kind of batteries were you using?

These are not my measurements; they're from QuickBeam's reviews. Sorry, I should have stated that.

The 2512AA's modest showing strikes me as odd. In June, somebody posted beam shots demonstrating his conclusion that the 2512AA was brighter, with more total light, than the Streamlight Jr. Luxeon. Or maybe better in one measure, but not the other. Does anyone have that link?

I really like the beam of the ALX-2512. The beam is more whiter than the Jr. Luxeon. My Jr. Luxeon has a slight green tint to it. The throw for both lights is about the same. The sidespill on both lights are equal.

Left, ALX-2512AA, Right, Streamlight Luxeon Jr.

I think this is an excellent little light.

I may get a few for gifts. The output is not outstanding, but still better than a standard 2D light. Throw is decent as well. Heck, it puts out more overall light and throws better than another benchmark, the UK 4AALED (a GREAT light). Runtime is pretty darn good.

Grandma and my wife had trouble pushing the tiny button on the UK...maybe the Nuwai is a little easier.

Remember that the luxeon lottery plays a large role in an idividual's experience when comparing the output and tint of a pair of lights. It's not surprising that different people's comparisons between the same two lights get different results, that's why multiple comparisons are better than one. I appreciate everyone's input.
