I was looking at the UK c8 eLED and noticed that it is a luxeon I, but is putting out an overal of 48 on flashlightreviews.com. this means that it is competing with several luxeon V? is it really a luxeon I and just being highly overdriven, or is really something else?
thanks for any input.

Hey there, Zoobie!

It uses a 5 watt (Luxeon V) side emitter, I believe. Where did you read 1 watt (Luxeon I)?

I think it uses a luxeon3. I don't know if there is such thing as a 5watt side emitter I have never heard of one but it wouldn't suprise me.

Sure there are Luxeon V side emitters. The Luxeon V in all colors has always been available as an SE version.

From the close-up picture of the Luxeon on the flashlightreviews.com review page, I can tell you definitively that it is indeed a Luxeon V side emitter.

Hmmm.... I may have screwed up my description of the Luxeon in that review - I'll give it another look-see. It happens...

Hooyea, it's a Luxeon V. Updated...
