Motion sensor led nightlights?

I've been looking for led motion sensor nightlights, and so far I have found two: the 3AAA Greenlite LED Motion Sensor Light and the 4AA Maxxima MLS-01 Occupancy Sensor LED Light: Greenlite, Maxxima.

Both lights have photo sensors so they operate only at night. Does anyone have one of these? Any opinions or recommendations?

The Maxxima looks well built. Specs say it's a 1,000mcd white LED. Isn't that very dim or is it just the result of a wide beam?

I wonder how much current the motion sensor and/or photo sensor circuitry takes to operate? I have a photo sensor AC 1.6watt nightlight and it is nice as it lights up an entire room and is set above the caller id and answering machine so you can read them in the dark.

That 1000 mcd spec on the Maxxima could be a typo. I'll email them and find out. Thanks for pointing that out. I think the level of light from a typical led night light is just about right, but I wouldn't want it to be so dim as to be unusable.

The specs also state a battery life of 1-2 years. I'm assuming that's based on the current drain from the photo and motion sensor circuitry, since it would be difficult to determine the amount of time the light will actually be on.

My roommate bought two LED nightlights from Target a year ago that have a photo cell in them and unless you put them in a completely dark area any light leaking in windows etc makes them nearly useless lighting the area. In other words they are rather weak lights like the neon ones that you can see the light but it doesn't light up anything else for you to see.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll add my question here. I'm looking for a plug-in motion sensor night light. This would be to use in the bathroom for night time use.

Lots of stuff on Amazon...

I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation?

The Daytex Sentina is one that seems interesting...

The GE 50723 Motion Sensing Night Light has great reviews at Amazon. This might be the one. Not sure if it has a light sensor to prevent it from cycling during the day time...

Any recommendations are appreciated.

I picked up a 2-pack motion and photo sensor LED light by Sylvania at a local BJ's Wholesale club for $20.

It runs on 3AAA. I had also wonder how much power the motion and photo sensor drains. It must be very little because I bought mind back in middle of May, we are now in Sept and they are still running on the set of batteries that came in the blister pack with the lights. :twothumbs I am very happy with them.

p.s. I installed one in the bathroom and one in the staircase, and they are tripped at least 10 times a day each. They also have a timer that turns the light off in about 13 seconds if no additional movement is detected.
