2400MAH battery and SL\'s fast charger
Well, I'm still on vacation, and decided to goto Hobbytown, and picked up a 2400MAH R/C pack. My original homemade packs were a 3000MAH NiMH(now in a SL 20XP at work) and a few 1800MAH packs for my 9AN.
I seperated the 7.2V pack into two 3.6V sticks. The cells in the pack I dissected are generic Chinese made cells, distributed by Peak Performance. I used the pieces from a defective Stinger stick.
The Streamlight fast charger for the Stinger series is rated at .7A output, though I've measured it at .9A. I drained the new pack until it was at .8V per cell, which is a bit low. The total charge time, up until the charger turned to trickle mode was 2Hr, 26Min., which seemed a bit early, though the SL charger has a built in timer to automatically trickle at 2.5HRS, which probably kicked-in. So I re-fast chraged it for another 20Min, and the charger then trickled. The new stick was luke warm, and I figure it's fully charged.
Normally, I don't like fast charging a new pack, but I'll see how it performs.
