surplus wall-warts

My friend gave me a bunch of wall-warts.
He said that he has put an ohmmeter across the plug of each one and got an open transformer reading.
I verified this with my ohmmeter, he is right.
But plugging a wall-wart in gives the correct voltage on the output connector.
I think these wall-warts have under-voltage lockout to prevent reduced voltage on the output if a brownout happens(wrecks havoc with electronic devices).
Two are so light that you cannot believe there is much inside.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If they are way too light, they may be switching power supplys. They don't use a step down transformer like most of them do. What brand are they?
