I have several conundrums. I am looking for a good laser rangefinder, but it must fulfill several criteria, including:
*Must* function with AA batteries
Should be a compact monocular
Should be water/weather/shock proof
Must range to at least 1200 M
Now, in my search, I have found none that fit all the criteria. Newcon Optik comes the closest, having everything but AA operation (uses 9V). The others (Bushnell, Swarovski, Leica) either look like crap, or take even more esoteric batteries. Are there any that fit my criteria? If not, would it be possible to mod or have modded that Newcon Optik model? Battery commonality with all my gadgets is a big deal with me, so this is a far bigger issue than it would first appear. Any ideas, suggestions, etc. would be a big help and much appreciated. Thanks.
