I put three new Radio Shack batteries in my new Streamlight TT3C, and got a fairly weak, but passable output, and a really yellow tint to the incan.; About what my Mag 3D looks like after much use.

The light and batteries have had very little use, but I changed the batteries and bulb anyhow, and it is now slightly brighter and shows less yellow tint.

Do you think I get better results with Duracells, which is what Streamlight recommends? Thanks

The problem with alkalines is that they get dimmer by the minute. Why, oh why, won't someone make 1.7V lithium C cells?

Meantime, I wonder whether you'd get whiter light with 1.7V AA lithium cells mounted in cheap AA-to-C adapters. At the very least, you'd get a MUCH flatter discharge curve. I blew the lamp of a Streamlight 4AA xenon in 10 minutes by running it with lithiums, but that was a light designed for AA cells. Used in a C light, maybe the 1.7V AAs would drop to a safe 1.5V.
