Default Bead Blasted Groovy! with UY0K For Sale

One of only twelve to be offered for sale:

Bead Blasted Groovy! in raw AL with a UY0K Lux III emitter driven by a NexGen 750 mA driver:

    Price: $160 postpaid.

Truth in advertising department: This is a raw aluminum body that has been bead blasted. It may be beautiful, at least to some eyes, but the bead blasting does nothing to protect the surface of the light. Contact with other metals will surely mark the surface. It is highly recommended that you carry this in a protective pouch, if you decide to carry it at all.

Shipped via First Class Mail to CONUS, foreign orders please add $2 per order. For insurance or other mail service, please PM.

PayPal cash to: PayCashPal (at) photonfanatic.com
    or
PayPal with credit card (please add 4%) to: fanatic (at) photonfanatic.com

    Thanks.

is there a coating on the groovy or just raw al and bead blasted? I'm not sure if people are noticing that it includes the Ubin emitter.

    Andrew,

Just bead blasted aluminum, no coating at all.

Hey, if they don't like the UY0K, I can always slap in a UX1K or UW0K.

But then I'd have to charge more. LOL

If I didn't already have a bare LC, yes, I would have been interested.

I was just playing with my Groovy, today, thinking I would buy another one if they were available. So, if it hasn't been spoken for, I will take it.

P.S. I appreciate that this is a straight shooter, with no Pop2G confusion.

    Andrew,

Yes, still left. Endeavor did a dozen of them, so there are plenty left.

You can buy just the body alone, or if you want any of the LEDs that I have in stock installed, just let me know.

Driver options include the NG500 or 750 and the POP2GX.

Yes, I do have some left, but I'm waiting on the Sandwich Shoppe for some NG750 drivers. Once those are in, I'd be willing to install any of the LEDs that I stock, plus some possible U binned Lux IIIs for the proper consideration.

I will also soon have a new LDO driver for use with rechargeables, which should result in a lower net price for those looking for a new Groovy.

The Groovy! One of the sleekest, sexiest lights of all time. Curvy like a Porsche 911. I have a couple Groovy!s in bare AL and they are downright gorgeous.

    luxlunatic,

Hope you'll like this one--UY0K with POP2GX driver--remember to use R123 for maximum brightness!

Recieved my Groovy today . This light rocks, good size, good solid feel, and the POP2 drive easy to operate. The output and beam is very similar to my HDS lights with a slightly thighter and good bit brighter hot spot. Led (UYOK) tint is great (at least to my eyes!). Very happy with this light, although the raw bead blasted aluminum exterior is a bit prone to scratches, I will still use this light, besides, some wear will look good on it. So thanks a lot Fred for this cool light and the speedy service. Mike.

Fred's service is 'untouchable'. I'm going to use him as a distributor for some of my projects because of his amazing service.. I love the attention to detail of shipping protection. A+ for sure.

Oh and i also love the groovy.. my special three-level groovy is my EDC now.. i will be making more drivers that can be put into other's groovies as well as an electronic kroll to help with switch issues.

arw:Yes, I agree, A+ product and service from Fred. I read about the issue with the kroll switch before buying, but now that I have it, it's hard to imagine it failing because it feels very solid with smooth operation, but an electronic kroll would be nice.
bmstrong:I don't know the exact dimensions but it is closest to my HDS EDC, and I recall those dimensions at 82/25.4mm. The Groovy being about 4mm longer, the head diameter about 1mm smaller, and the body about 4mm smaller.

And, oh, if anyone wants one, I still have some left. Be glad to make one up, your choice of UY0K or UX1L, for anyone with $160. Hey, I'm not too fussy, am I?

i get very intermittent operation from krolls.. they do tend to 'get the job done'.. but i have measured up to 1/2V drop on the switch.. needs some help in the reliable amount of resistance department.

If you look at a kroll.. there are tiny tiny contact points in places.. that because of it i would personally rate the switch about 50mA.. not 1A like we tend to use it.

Fred.. please let me know if you get down to the last one, so i can beg borrow or steal, one of those 'has my name on it.
