Default Surefire throw 6p vs 9p

How does the throw of a 6P (or other Surefire with P60) compare to a 9P (or other Surefire with P90)? I've never used a 3 cell Surefire and would like to get an idea of how it will compare to my G2 or C2. John

I used both bulbs. The throw is the same, coz the reflector is the same. 9P had a bigger hotspot and the spot is oval shaped.

So would it be safe to assume that if I was to run a P61 in my 2 cell Surefire that it would give me a beam about equal to that of a 3 cell running a P90? John

pretty close, any small differences are no greater than the differences between individual globes of the same type on the same batteries...
How much current flows through your bulb?

It is normal for SureFire to focus as much as the light as possible into the beam. This means if the filament is not a point [source] (which it isn't) then the beam will not be a point (round).
