is there anyway of disabling the protection circuit?

I think that you can just peel back the wrapper and remove the PCB. There a wire going to the opposite end too but it'll be shorter and I'm not sure if it'll have a positive end raised then!

Thanks WPTSKI,

i've removed the wrapper and removed hte PCB at the end. Battery stil doesn't charge, so it's not faulty circuit. oh well, have to order a new battery.

at least i can use 123's as backup for now :)

Pop the battery in and out of the charger several times, quickly. I've had to do this with an R123 to get the protection circuit to reset. The Pila may need the same.

Thanks for the tip, Chevrofreak,

I've already removed the protection circuit and tried charging the batt without it. still didn't change the colour of the charging light on the charger.

oh well, new battery on the way. it's a shame, coz i've only recharged it about 5 times. it's just my luck to have a bad battery.
