Comparison Nuwai 1W - 3W ?

Well, I actually don't have an interest in the Apex anymore, but I can't seem to change the thread title. Sorry for that. I only have 2 headlights which I'm considering at the moment, perhaps you could help me out.

Could anyone compare the Nuwai 1W headlamp reviwed on flashlightreviews
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/nuwai_hlx-712l.htm

to what seems to be a 3W Nuwai headlamp at amondotech
http://www.amondotech.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=872 ?

Does anyone know what the 3W is like?

Thanks

Not sure which Nuwai your talking about, but I have this one http://www.amondotech.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=874

It's pretty nice, I use it at work on my hardhat. I can't comment on the strap since I take off the straps of all my headlamps and use velcro in place as it's much stronger and the light wont fall off.

I usually use the low brightness setting as that seems to usually be enough. It can light up something probably 90-120ft in front of me on medium or high. Low is good for 50-70ft I'd guess. It seems fairly sturdy as a headlight, though I'll know for sure if I hit my head with it. I wouldn't want to have to change the batteries in darkness since the O-ring falls out really easy.

I can compare it too a Brinkmann 1 watt from walmart and a PT Yukon HL. The PT was nice, the only thing I really disliked about it was the seperate battery pack. The Brinkmann could out throw the PT slightly but isn't as sturdy. The Nuwai can out throw either of those lights but doesn't have quite as nice of beam as the Brinkmann did.

Yep, the Nuwai you mentioned is the 1W version. I was wondering whether the extra lumens of the 3W version might be useful, or the max setting on the 1W version is more than enough

Actually Ledmuseum.org did a review of both of the Nuwai headlamps, and their overall power was almost identical.
The 712 (1 watt) got a 1,147,000mcd on his scale, while the 032 (3 watt) got a 1,132,000mcd on the scale. As you can see the 1 watt 712L is actually more powerful than the 3 watt.
