Hey all,

I was thinking of a LuxIII r/o led thermal epoxied into a screw-base pr bulb for use in a 2AAA penlight. Do you think it would work? I have a QIII r/o that runs pretty well DD off a single CR123. The voltage off 2 AAAs should be the same but I don't know if they'll give the same current.
What compound would give the best heat-sinking (arctic alumina, arctic silver 5, ceramique)?

Thanks for your feedback!

R/O do take lower voltage than the white i believe.

AS is the best themal compound, but any of the ones you listed would work fine.

I would test the output 'on the bench' before trying it.. AAAs can not put out a lot of current, that's why i use LiONs.. you could wire up two LiON AAAs in PARALLEL inside the light and using a resistor or a driver ( http://ldo.rouse.com ) you would have a pretty stunning light!
