Source for a 18650 battery holder?
I was wondering if anyone had a source for a battery holder for the 18650. By battery holder, I mean one of those dohickies that hold the battery and have terminals so you can solder it into an application.
Thanks,
-john

Dredging up an absolutely ancient thread here....
I don't know where to find one, but would be interested in one as well.

Re: Source for a 18650 battery holder?
I built one for my mp3 player out of a plastic box (one of those with many small compartments for screws, electronic parts and the like). I dremeled one of the compartments off, glued the contacts of a C cell holder to the extremities, made a hinge out of zip tie tails and a very agricultural closing mechanism out of another zip tie and some plastic bag wire.
But all that is only useful if you don't value your time much... a proper holder would be a much better idea. Sadly, I don't think anyone is manufacturing them. I too searched all over the net for one, but found none...

Yes, to piggy back, I'd love to purchase holders for the 18650 for 2, 3 and 4 cell configurations.
Love to know if anyone knows a source.

Re: Source for a 18650 battery holder?
Ahhh, glad to see I'm not the only person looking for these !
I need such a holder to hook up my 18650 to a decent charger because I don't trust those cheap Li-Ion chargers a lot....
My idea is to get one of those cheap chargers, rip out all of the electronics and connect wires to the battery terminals.
Look for the 18650 x 1 charges on ebay, like the Ultrafire #WF137 or DSD Intelligent Charger for 16340/18650/17670 battery. Of course, they are much more expensive than battery holders should be, but still, I think it's worth it.

Re: Source for a 18650 battery holder?
Poor man's holder using AA holders cut in half and "stretched". Been using it for about five years now. I have several poor man's adapters for shorter cells.
This is powered by a poor man's charger using Linear LTC4054 driven by a 5V switcher. This has a charge termination indicator (red LED's)
As you can see, I'm very poor

Bundle of 3x18650 in triangle form will NOT fit inside any M*g "D" body.
