Unusual flashlight on TV
Can anyone tell me what this torch is that the character Sergeant Doakes is using to search an apartment in Dexter, 25 seconds in:

Is it some kind of infrared torch? I thought they were only useful if you had night vision goggles but Doakes isn't wearing any. Is the idea that it illuminates things but doesn't give away where you are? Doakes is supposed to be ex-special forces so he would have this sort of equipment.

Re: Unusual flashlight on TV
Sorry, def not infrared, otherwise you and I couldn't see it. Looks to be just 8 simple red led's. Here's a light that will give the same beam results...

The first time I watched that episode, I thought it was a cheapy, but... is that a Kroma?

Re: Unusual flashlight on TV
It looks like a red LED light, since you can see the light.
If they were using an expensive light, then it could be the red mode of a Kroma.

Re: Unusual flashlight on TV
Pretty sure it's a Surefire Kroma. They have a bunch of Surefires in the show mostly 6Ps and 9Ps and a few M4 or M3Ts.

Re: Unusual flashlight on TV
When I watched I blurted Kroma. I'm not aware of any other colored LED lights with multiple LEDs and a larger bezel like that. If there are then it's just a guess.

Re: Unusual flashlight on TV
I personally thought it looked to big in his hand to be a KROMA.
