I'm not familiar with the PIAA product you mention, but I've ran PIAA super whites in the past. I wouldn't pay the extra $50 for them... I don't think there's a noticable difference between the knock-off super whites and the PIAAs (I'm talking stock wattage on both).
I'm running a product called "Truview" made by Wagner. They run white, like the PIAA super whites. Retail was about $14 per bulb, as opposed to the $40 or so per bulb for PIAAs.
Noticable improvement over stock, but not a huge difference.
If you want brighter you can up the wattage, go with something like a 65/100 rather than a 55/65. I did that in a Honda years ago and it made a
huge difference... and I only got flashed about 1x per month
Now a days I prefer sticking with stock wattage, white bulbs. They create a bit more percieved light, and better contrast... plus they are legal and don't annoy other drivers. They are not like HID lights, and they don't make folks go "wow!" It's just a slight improvement.
So all in all, I do like the white light style, I stick with the knock offs and to make things really brighter I just use PIAA fog lights & driving lights when needed.
