movie style Flare?

I never cold find any info on the flairs they use in moovies that they hit on the bottom sorta like a road flair but lights SUPER bright wite i mean like it lights up a cave, naturally hollywood adds some off camera lights but i presume somthing like that might be magnesium?

but who makes them where can i buy some anybody know??
