Default LED Automotive headlights are coming soon

I read in Motor Trend today that the next Audi TT has LED low beams. I have no idea what technology they are using, or if maybe this is vaporware....

It's been on concept cars for years, but don't expect to see it on cars anytime soon. The regulations in the US need to be amended as lamp out conditions are not so clear cut...

How may lumens do low beams generally have?

IIRC they input power is 55 watts but I assume with LEDs you could use less, so ten LuxV emitters on each side should be more than enough.

(Assuming legal issues allow, of course.)

Golden DRAGON®
A beaming presence

The new Golden DRAGON® LEDs from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors offer bright daytime running light and very low energy consumption. While thin-film technology ensures that almost all the light produced in the semiconductor chip is provided at the surface, a low forward voltage reduces the amount of power the LED needs."
