Sorry for the confusion, but I'm not using an avatar. I first hotlinked an avatar from another forum I'm a member of and then deleted it (a photohosting experiment). I then set one up using the personal avatar controls under User CP to see if they worked.
Both of those attempts worked, but I don't like using an avatar, so I deleted everything.

Interesting. Maybe it's my computer, because I don't see any described picture other than a yellow/gold character on the "right" side under posts.
