Default Solar LED outdoor lights

We purchased a couple of those little solar-powered LED outdoor lights.
They are made by Brinkmann, have a white LED and a solar panel.
They came with NiMh AA bats.

What is interesting, is that they run on a single AA, so they must have a step-up of some sort. Pretty cool.

Here is the question: The stock bats are only 700mah. Should I replace them with a bat with greater capacity?

Could it be that the lower capacity allows deeper discharge, therefore conditioning the battery more? I did condition the new bats in my Vanson prior to installation.

Thanks,
Bob

I have some of the solar lights from True Value Hardware. Mine came with 600mah nicads. They would only last about 4 hours past sundown. I replaced them with 2400mah NiMh and now they run all night.

Yep, I just got two Westinghouse brand. They have a single 600 mah NiCad. I'll see what they do. I've successfully replaced NiCad with NiMH before in lights that used two AA cells.
