UK is there any flashoholics in the Bath/Bristol area
I'm curious to see if there are any flashoholics close to where i live. I would be interested in buying things from the American community. If a few of us got together and bought some things it would reduce postage costs. post in this thread if your interested. Any other flashoholics from the UK post here also as i am curious about how many of us there are in the UK.

When buying from the US it's best to keep your orders small ($30 and under) to be sure of avoiding the dreaded import duty
Lumping a load of expensive orders together will make HM Customs very happy and may not ultimately save you any money.
If customs get interested you can look at adding 40% to total amount already paid - to be paid upon collection
Plus - someone then has the responsibility and added cost of re-posting the separate packages off to their new respective owners within the UK.
A good thought, but I think you'll find it a non-starter.
Tim.

Re: UK is there any flashoholics in the Bath/Bristol area
I forgot about the import tax. Sometimes the UK's laws really wind me up if you show a bit of initiative and try to get a good price on something you just get screwed for doing so. It still might be a good idea for the UK based flashoholics to post in this thread so maybe we can contact each other on parts or torches we already have that can be exchanged, sold or bought. It would be nice if it was a little easier to get hold of torch related stuff rather than having to import all the time. Maybe i'm just grasping at straws.

St Andrews, Scotland.
If you order from places such as Lighthound, you'll find the package is usually under $30, and they are very quick to deliver, usually a week by Global Priority Mail.

I'll second that - Lighthound are fantastic...as are The Sandwich Shoppe.
The guys on BST forums are very professional and great to deal with too...You can't beat the personal touch.
