Default LED lighting - Is there a guide for setting up your own LEDs?

I was wondering if there has been a guide written on LED lighting. It could be for different applications, such as setting up LEDs in a car, or setting them up in your home, or even making an LED flashlight. For someone who knows very little about this sort of thing, would it be difficult to get started?

I think I posted this in the wrong forum. I started the same thread in the Homemade and Modified Lights section. The moderaters can close this one if they want, thanks.
