Default Just replaced two more incans w/ CFLs...

Of course the only reason they were incan is that the prior CFLs had expired!

Almost every light around here that CAN be CFL is in fact CFL!!!

How about you?

PS. I pretty much only buy GE CFLs at Walmart.

The only lights in my house that are still tungsten filament are the ones in the stairwell to the basement, the ones in the bathroom in the basement, the one in the water heater closet in the basement, and the small ones in the ceiling fan in the living room. Otherwise the house has 25 or more CFL spirals and a couple round tube fluorescents in it.

I use a mix of Feit warm white 9W 13W and 26W and Commercial Electric 26W 5500K CFL's around the house. My bedroom uses the 5500K's.

All my lights are CFLs or LEDs. I use the LEDs for reading. The CFLs are full spectrum -- about 5000K and a CRI of about 90, except on in the visitor room that has an ordinary yellowish CFL, which gives a better mood light for just sitting around and talking.

The LEDs are awesome. I have them on adjustable lamps. And hour or so of sunlight on my solar panels puts enough electricity in my batteries to run my reading lamp 4 hours every night for a year.

My room and bathroom is all CFL's the daylight color ones which I think are 5500-6500K. Much nicer than incandescents that were in here previously.

replaced all lights possible in entire house with compact florescent bulbs over 4 years ago.

when I started replacing CFB, costs approximate $8 per bulb.
package of 10 CFB purchased at Sams last week, $1 per bulb.

costs to replace CFB have dropped dramatically. it makes no sense not to switch over.

when I was in China 5 years ago, it was hard to find a lamp without a CFB. this was true across traveling deep into rural china. amazed...widespread use of CFB occurred in china long before US.

The only incans I haven't replaced with CFLs are: on a dimmer circuit; in a cold area; switched on often; or can't provide enough light. CFLs are proving to be good replacements for many incans.

As already stated: I'm having the best luck with the spiral variety rather than "Biax". Anyone here use the Biax with good results?
