Re: practicing
The little running dog, he shows just fine.
But the first one will not appear- and I`ll tell you for why. It`s hosted on Tripod, and as such, can never appear on a non-Tripod web site. It`s one of their annoying little things they do, they call it "bandwidth stealing" as they`re a free service paid for by adverts on each site (like mine- in that box I tell you all to minimise). Link an image to another site and you can`t visit the adverts that give money to Tripod. I can understand why, but I don`t like it myself.

Now see, that's funny... I can see them both with no problem - smiley face and running dog...

Re: practicing
Under some circumstances I have been able to view Tripod-hosted images too, maybe something to do with cached files- you been editing/uploading/viewing your site`s pages earlier on?
Also if I copy/paste the address of some images, I can view them on their own page, then when I return, there they are on the page- just pulled from memory without having to go through the "blocking agent" that prevents it appearing initially.
Most the time it`s a pain in the toliet muscle though, I have to use my ISP`s freebie account to host images here, even if they are already on my web site.

Re: practicing
Nope, those are even worse. Not only do you not see your picture, but instead you get an Angelire banner in their place. they are the same as Tripod- even part of the Lycos group like Tripod.
Personally I wonder why they still exist as they offer less than Tripod does, and with longer, more forgettable page addresses!
But that`s just my personal opinion, as the owner of 2-1/2 Tripod-hosted sites. I`m sure they offer a great service, but too bad they don`t do hotlinking either.....

Re: practicing
That's really weird then, since the three "ad replaced" pictures are on the same site as the running dog in the first post.
Any ideas why?

Re: practicing
Probably they will show up on your Tripod site because Tripod and Angelfire are both part of the Lycos Network, maybe residing on the same massive load of servers that host the rest of their network too (though probably it is spread out over a fair few servers at different locations). I`d hazard a guess that their hotlink-blocking system doesn`t come into play on Lycos-Network sites, so those Angelfire-hosted images will appear on a Tripod page, and vice-versa.
Just a guess though....

Re: practicing
No, wait- I mis-interpreted your post.
Hmmm, that is odd- all I can suggest is because that tired little dog (does he ever take a break?!) is a GIF animation not a fixed image, Angelfire`s banner thingy can`t block it. The other 3- are they all JPGs? I looked at one`s properties and it was, didn`t have time to look at the other 2 cos it takes ages to come up.
