Default flashlights used in various tv shows

Hello all, I'm new to this group but I have become fascinated with LED lights!..I have the inova 5 led system, the 6 led ledlite flt-3001 and I am excited about the next generation of units coming out soon.

My querrie is:
What are the flashlights that the team on the tv show "CSI" use? they are small really bright [to the camera's eye]?? Also what light is used on "The X Files"?

I am anxious to see the new improved inova x-5 light with the real on off switch and I'm very courious about the ARC LS/O???

Oh, I also have one of the "pal type lights", the newer style with the seven settings and protective lens. A slick light since it's one of the few that allow you to find it in the dark ha ha!!!

Finally, anyone using led assemblies for motorcycle lights, replacing the standard 1156 or 1157 lamps??

regards, Marty ka7gkn@arrl.net

Hi marty, welcome to the forum!

You probably won't get much of a response since this is the practice forum, mainly intended for people getting familiar with the forum interface.

As for your questions, I don't know specific answers, but I've seen threads devoted to a few of those subjects. The "CSI" and "The X File" lights have come up a few times on the "General Flashlight and Headlamps Discussion" forum.

The Inova X5 is a fairly popular light with a lot of recent discussion in the "LED, Electroluminescent and Lasers" forum.

The Arc LS and its smaller cousin the Arc AAA get enough discussion to warant their own group. You'll find Peter Gransee (the president and founder of Arc Flashlights) posting regularly on that forum.

I'd recommend using the search option to get started--you'll find a lot of useful and interesting info on most of the questions you asked.

Good luck!

- Russ
