All units are on a build to order. This way I can keep the latest and brightest LED stock.
Please allow 1-2 weeks for the build. Family first, the boss said!

This wording would seem to preclude purchasing a Draco as a gift for another.
Surely this is not your intent.

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
Guys if you use the express purchase option.
for cash use
for credit card use
No need to send extra 4% because it's already calculated into this.
aikiman44: separate payment for 4% refunded.
AndyTiedye: Andy, it's my intention for people to own and give these to their friends and family member. I did not like the idea where ppls just purchase and turn around resell for a profit (happening alot around here). Just doing what I can to minimize this.
But you're right, maybe I should loosen the "donate" part.

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
I looked in the Drake Info link, and didn't see any obvious answer, so:
What is the difference between Chrome Complete Drake @ $145, Drake Standard @ $155,
Drake Premium @ $260, and Combo Premium @ $320?

From what I see, the complete drake does not come with accessories like the charger, etc. Just the light.
The drake standard comes with the drake light, a charger, some batteries, etc.
The premium includes turbo head, a AAA battery tube and a few extras.
The combo premium comes with a battery tube for a different battery, and a few extras (like more tritium)
Anyways, it's all in the chart.

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
aikiman44: The Turbo head package listed here is a complete head. It includes light engine and the turbo head. So all you need to order is a Drake battery tube and turbo head that should give you a complete light.
DFiorentino: For your case you need to order a Drake battery tube, and a XRE LE (not listed), and turbo head upgrade (reflector modification). All in all it should be ~$30 cheaper than if you purchase the entire set.
vontech: Thanx for catching the Drake Premium package error. Those package have been revised to exclude Draco AAA Extension.
rdh226: the pricesheet is a matrix. What you do is read down the column of each package if the cell is marked "X" that mean that package contain the item.
For example the Drake Standard Chrome Package consists of the following.
Complete Drake
Extra Silicon Oring
10180->AAA Spacer
2x 10180 Batteries
Nano AAA charger.
The premium package you'll have the same thing plus
AAA extension
Turbo head (with separate LE)
1 more extra oring (total of 2x)
Tritium and installation.
I've highlighted the Drake Standard Chrome Package for your reference.

LOL, Jonathan that pic is a very neat effect - it looks like you've shot some bullet holes in a piece of frosted glass and photographed the spec sheet through it!

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
Paypal sent - my Draco's getting a little sister! You know, I've heard that older siblings often resent a newborn in the family...I'll have to figure out how to get them to play together nicely. =)
Jonathan, I just noticed (from post #2) that you're only shipping the AlTiN/TiCN models right now. Do you have any idea when the chrome models might ship? I'm not looking for an exact date, just trying to get a ballpark estimate - you know, to figure out whether it'll be closer to 3 weeks or 3 months. (I checked the Drake info thread first, but I didn't see any mention of this.)

Ah, I see. That makes sense. *Thanks. *I guess I was expecting that (for example) the Drake package
would "X" the 10180 battery tube (and Draco the 10280). As with so much...one you understand it, it's
obvious...

Wow, that's a cool effect!
Two more questions:
1) is this packaged Nano charger the same one that is too-high a current for the 180 cells? Or is there
yet another Nano charger out there?
2) The heads/battery tubes are compatible, right? I.e., I could take a Drake, use the Draco tube with AAA
extender and use a AAA battery, right?
3) What is the Saphire lens option? What is the regular lens? I searched both info threads for "saphire"...
Now . . . to scare up some money . . . funny how my piles of $20ies have been spontaneously evaporating
lately (especially since joining/reading CPF!).

I think I can answer questions 2 & 3,
2) Yes, the Draco and Drake heads and bodies are physically interchangeable. You could use the Drake head on the 10280-size Draco body or the Draco head on the 10180-size body. The only compatibility issue is that the Draco head draws a lot of current for the tiny 10180 cell.
3) The normal Draco and Drake have a sapphire lens as normal equipment. I believe the option is just if you happen to want an extra lens for some reason.

Just quoting you to make sure that question isn't missed.
I have a secondary battery question though. I've never dealt with unprotected rechargeables before. For those of you who have a draco already, is it easy to tell when you should be recharging the battery?
I don't have a multimeter, and find it a bit ridiculous to have to check every day to make sure the battery is above 3V (or whatever it is).
Too bad the draco doesn't do something like blink when the voltage is too low. Anyways, back to my question: Is it easy to tell when the battery is low? I'll be wearing this around my neck and I'd like to not have any Li-Ion 'issues' in such a vulnerable position

If the setting for the beam is high, then it is quite easy to tell when the battery is getting low – it visibly begins to fade, and when it starts doing that you should stop using it at once and recharge it. On a low setting this will NOT be easy to spot, as the current draw is less and the battery will continue to provide power even when it reaches a low safe limit.
The best thing is to recharge little but often. For example, if I use mine for only 3-4 minutes on high one night, I recharge it the next morning anyway. Even if it has only dropped to maybe 3.9v, I recharge it. Pull it from the nanocharger as soon as the light goes green and it will be below 4.2v. I hope to get 500+ cycles out of each cell, and I have 2 spare cells ($4.50 each, IIRC). The extra small charges aren’t going to shorten their life, if anything they are going to extend it, 500 cycles = a long time, and $4.50 is pretty cheap for something that may last 2-3 years.
I would however very strongly recommend you should get a multimeter. You can get reasonably-priced ones, and you will then be able to monitor your cells properly. When you get one, make sure you test it for accuracy against a professional-grade one like a Fluke, as even a 0.1v difference is quite a lot when you are dealing with Li-Ions.
Re the other question above concerning sapphire lenses, I asked Jonathan about this some time ago, and he said they are very tough and he’s never heard of one that size breaking, so you may decide you don’t need a spare.

Ok.. well damn. I guess a DMM should be part of one of the packages
Could you recommend any to me? Flukes seem to go for 100+ and I don't know anyone with a fluke so I can't exactly test the accuracy.

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
You'll probably get plenty of suggestions, and I think this is one time when I would not order online but actually go into a good electronic retail store and do a comparison. If you take some batts in with you, you would be able to test different ones, maybe including a Fluke, but you don't have to spend $$$00s to get something reasonable which does what you want it to do.

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
Can anyone tell me where the 10280 batteries are made? Or for that matter, the AAA Nano charger? It might sound like a strange question, but I generally try to avoid Chinese made goods these days and just wanted to check before I placed an order.

Re: === Drake / Draco Payment === (PART 3)
I think a comparison and the differences of the 2 lights would be nice right here. I just do not have the time to read through all the threads. I want to order 1 of these, just not sure which one. Maybe pictures of the 2 side by side?
